Should a man saying 'Hello' to a woman be a criminal offence?

burning-pitchforks
I fear that the world is turning a dark corner and moving along a path that is destructive to the very cohesion that binds men and women together as equal members of civilisation.

I fear that men are going to be made to suffer for just being men. I see many instances that make me feel this is becoming a reality.

People get angry

I know I’ve been writing about equality from a position that is anti-feminist, because I see feminism as being about things other than equality. But there’s something I haven’t written about because it just hasn’t been an area I’ve focused on, and that’s the extent of misogyny (hatred of women by men) that still exists in our society.

Social change and discrimination against men

Last year, while I was working in Sydney, I met and befriended a fellow patron of a nearby restaurant and had dinner with him almost every night for about 6 weeks. We became very close in that time, and I was happy that he accepted an invitation to join me at my wedding a short time later. But I digress. He told me, "No one knows which snowflake causes the avalanche."

The Emperor has no clothes

There’s a level of insanity in this world that’s becoming more and more prominent, and very few people speak up about it because they don’t want others thinking that they’re against ‘progress’, or that they’re old-fashioned, sexist, racist, discriminatory or just plain insensitive. So they stay quiet, despite the evidence before them that more and more people are going insane.

Kindness, empathy and men’s rights

While I appreciate the value of kindness and empathy, I don’t think it’s a suitable answer to the big issues in the world that concern my own interest in pointing out discrimination when I see it. I think kindness and empathy is mostly helpful with friends, family and random strangers, but it does nothing to change or create laws with the intention of treating people with kindness and empathy.

Evolving to become an egalitarian

One of the things I really enjoy is growing and evolving because of new understandings, insights and experiences. I love writing about ideas, perceptions and opinions that I might have, while recognising that it's simply how I'm thinking in that period of my life.
I've realised today that I've been changing with one of my own beliefs, and I can see how that change has occurred over time.
